If you haven’t heard by now, ChatGPT is taking the world by storm by using cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques to understand the meaning behind human language and generate responses that are relevant and helpful.

As a language model, ChatGPT has been trained on vast amounts of text data from a wide range of sources, such as books, articles, and websites. This training has enabled ChatGPT to learn about many different topics and to understand the nuances of human language, including idioms and colloquialisms. Users can interact with ChatGPT by typing in messages or questions (prompts), and it will generate responses based on what it has learned from its training data. ChatGPT can be used for a variety of purposes, such as answering questions, providing recommendations, or even just having a conversation.

Overall, ChatGPT is a powerful tool for communicating with machines in a way that feels natural and intuitive, and it has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with technology. That being said, it can also have personality in it if you choose to jazz up your prompts with a little “spice”.

Don’t believe me? All of the above was (mostly) written by ChatGPT based on the prompt I gave it to briefly introduce me to what ChatGPT is (but to add a little spice). Terrifying? A little. Exciting for marketers to elevate their content strategies for themselves and their clients? INCREDIBLY.

So I know what you’re probably thinking…


Absolutely not (at least not yet, anyway). While we’ve learned that ChatGPT can help take your current content strategies to the next level, there will ALWAYS be a need for human-driven content and personality to shine through in a world in search of authentic interactions.

As of right now, ChatGPT is proving to be an incredibly powerful tool, but this tool also has its limitations in place - such as the software only knowing as much information as it can scan and find online (based on the parameters the user enters to create the text). You could say the program is book smart but what it lacks in (in a lot of areas) is common sense. Truly, these snippets of AI-generated content are only as good as the prompts given for it to complete the task. And at the end of the day, a human WILL have to go through and tweak the content to make sure it is factually correct while also fitting to their brand and their voice.


ChatGPT’s landing page is really clear about the AI’s limitations. Because its knowledge base comes directly from our ever-fallible internet, you may occasionally be served incorrect, harmful or biased content. Additionally, it is quite clear about its limited knowledge of events post 2021. So basically any conversations that included events or information from the last year are particularly unreliable.
